Mayor's Commission on Latino Education Excellence

In response to the growing community concerns about the achievement gap for Latino students in the Worcester public schools, Mayor O’Brien has created the Mayor’s Commission on Latino Education Excellence. This commission is composed of Latino community leaders, educators, parents, members of our higher education community, among other community stake holders. This group held meeting throughout the spring, holding public hearings and soliciting input to create concrete recommendations to improve the academic achievement levels of Latino students in the Worcester Public Schools. This fall they have released their report: "Creating the Will: A Community Roadmap for Creating Educational Excellence for Latino Students". You can download a copy of the report from the resources tab of this web site.
